Montenegrin President Milo Djukanovic on Tuesday condemned Russia's recognition of two breakaway regions in eastern Ukraine as a move that is in breach of international law and the law-based international order.
Djukanovic tweeted that Montenegro condemns any act of recognising the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk regions as independent entities.
Montenegro reiterates its unequivocal support to the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Ukraine within its internationally recognised borders, he added.
Montenegro, a member of NATO, has already aligned its foreign policy with the EU and supported the imposition of sanctions on Russia.
