As of midnight Monday, the price of petrol per litre will be €1.38, which is a decrease of €0.03, while a litre of diesel will cost €1.39 or 12 cents less compared to current prices, the government reported on Monday.
Blue-dyed diesel will cost €0.89, which is also a decrease of 12 cents, and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas ) gas for tanks €1.36 per kilogram, down €0.02 compared to the previous fortnight.
The same reduction, of €0.02, applies to LPG for cylinders, which will cost €1.93 per kilogram.
The government set the new prices during a conference call when it adopted the latest cap on retail fuel prices for the next fortnight.
Without these government measures, fuel would cost €1.61 for a litre of petrol and €1.65 for diesel, the government underscored.
Blue-dyed diesel would cost €1.01, and LPG for tanks €1.61 per kilogram.
LPG for cylinders would cost €2.24.
