The Zagreb County prosecutor's office on Wednesday requested the financial regulator HANFA to inform it of the actions taken within HANFA's remit in establishing if Croatian Central Bank employees traded in securities based on insider information.
HANFA said earlier today it had launched a probe to establish whether staff at the central bank had traded in securities of commercial banks based on insider information in violation of the Market Abuse Regulation and the Capital Market Act.
The Zagreb County prosecutor’s office said it had requested HANFA to inform it of the results of its inspection so that the prosecutor’s office, depending on the findings, could take legal action.
