Over the past 24 hours, 752 new cases of the coronavirus infection have been confirmed in Slovenia, and there have been 25 related deaths, the Slovenian government tweeted on Sunday.
A total of 2,669 PCR tests have been conducted, with 25% returning positive and confirming 667 infections, while 2,492 rapid antigen tests have confirmed another 85 infections, with 3.4% tests returning positive.
The number of active cases in Slovenia is currently at 24,408, the health ministry said.
There are 1,143 COVID patients in hospitals, including 202 in intensive care units.
According to the health ministry’s data, the death toll has increased to 2,973.
To date, slightly more than 20,000 retirement home residents and employees, as well as health workers in hospitals, have been vaccinated with Pfizer’s vaccine, and the government said that in the first two months of this year, Slovenia would get 26,000 doses of Moderna’s vaccina, procured through the European Commission.
