There are currently record-high 24,230 active cases of the coronavirus infection in Slovenia, 6.5% more than the day before, the Slovenian government said on Saturday.
In the last 24 hours, of 13,069 tests, including PCR and rapid antigene tests, 1,843 have returned positive. In the said period, 26 patients died of COVID-related complications.
As many as 1,150 COVID patients are being treated in COVID hospitals, and of them, 191 are in intensive care wards.
The country’s seven-day incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants stands now at 2,009, up by 11.5% compared to the day before, the health ministry said.
After, the authorities rolled out the first batch of 33,000 vaccines against COVID 19 in old-age care homes and health institutions, a new plan for administering new doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be presented next week, Prime Minister Janez Jansa, said at a news conference on Friday.
