Slovenian health authorities have confirmed 7,330 new coronavirus infections in the past 24 hours, which is slightly less than on Friday, when 7,514 new cases were reported, and 4,178 fewer cases than seven days ago.

The number of active cases stands at slightly more than 154,000 or 7,520 fewer than on Friday.

As the epidemiological situation has been improving recently, the government will meet with epidemiologists on Tuesday to discuss a possible easing of COVID-19 rules, however, government officials remain very cautious.

“We will discuss adjusting the rules to the current situation because the epidemiological situation can again deteriorate,” Health Minister Janez Poklukar said.

He said that the new rules would depend on weather conditions and on the spreading of the virus as well as on possible new mutations, noting that the restrictions could both be relaxed and tightened in the months to come.
