The City of Zagreb on Wednesday selected the best offers for the procurement of a bulky waste crusher and shredder, the equipment with which the city-owned sanitation company Cistoca will do the job of bulky waste removal itself, instead of private companies.
The two machines are worth slightly under 6 million kuna, and their procurement will be co-financed, according to a previously signed contract, from EU funds in the amount of 50 percent, the city administration said.
The decision was passed after Mayor Tomislav Tomasevic last Tuesday cancelled a tender for the removal of bulky waste in Zagreb, announcing that from now on the city-owned sanitation company Cistoca would be in charge of the job instead of private companies, stressing that, according to Cistoca’s estimate, the move would help save around 33 million kuna per year.
The best offer for the procurement of a mobile crusher was given by the Lager Basic company from Donji Stupnik, in the amount of 3,146,000 kuna without VAT, while the O-K TEH company from Zagreb gave the best offer for the mobile shredder, in the amount of 2,749,000 kuna without VAT.
