Ambassadors of EU countries visit N1 television in Zagreb, discuss media freedom

N1

Ambassadors and diplomats of Austria, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Norway, and Sweden accredited to Croatia visited N1 television's newsroom on Thursday to look at what an average day looks like for N1 reporters and journalists, and also to discuss the state of media freedoms in Croatia with N1 professionals operating in Croatia's media environment.

On a busy day when the government was about to make a momentous decision on the fate of Croatia’s ailing shipbuilding industry, the six ambassadors and diplomats could see first-hand how reporters and editors at N1 followed all the latest developments to deliver the latest information and analyses to our viewers.

Their visit was also an excellent opportunity for the six ambassadors to talk to our reporters and editors about a series of topics, including the upcoming European election in May, Brexit, Croatia’s investment climate, as well as democratic standards and media laws in the country.

Part of the interview in which N1’s Ivana Dragicevic talks with ambassadors of Finland and Denmark, Risto Piipponen and Christian Thorning, about experiences that their countries have had in transforming their shipbuilding sectors is available here.

The full interview with Piipponen and Thorning will be aired on Sunday in Natasa Bozic’s programme TNT on Sunday, from 9 to 12 am.
