Large parts of Montenegro were left without power on Monday following a strong storm with pouring rain and winds that tore down trees.

The Niksic-Podgorica road was closed due to a landslide.

The national weather service said that rainfall ranged from 256 liters per square meter in Podgorica to 73 liters in the Adriatic port of Bar. The national parks service said that the Biogradska Gora national park was closed because of fallen trees around the Biogradsko lake.

The Internal Affairs Ministry Emergency Situations Directorate warned that Montenegro would be hit by storms with high winds and rain all of this week.
