Kosovo Prime Minister, Avdullah Hoti, had tested positive for the coronavirus, local media reported on Sunday evening.

On his Facebook profile, Hoti said he would continue performing his duties from home.

“Today I have tested for Covid-19 and I am positive. I do not have any particular symptoms other than a very mild cough. As of this evening I will be in isolation for the next two weeks,” he wrote.

Earlier on Sunday, Hoti had visited several companies in the town of Dragash in the southwest of the country.

To date, Kosovo, with a population of 1.8 million, has reported some 9,000 coronavirus cases, while the death toll stands at 249.
