Bosnia and Herzegovina has recorded another 1,784 coronavirus cases out of more than 4,000 tests conducted, the healthcare authorities confirmed on Saturday.

There were 31 Covid-related fatalities confirmed, a day after the country set the daily record with 57 deaths caused by the virus infection.

Among the newly infected patients is Bosnia’s prime minister, formally the Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Zoran Tegeltija. He developed only mild symptoms of the virus infection and was in self-isolation, his office confirmed Saturday morning.

The healthcare authorities in the Federation (FBiH) entity have performed 3,091 lab tests, confirming 1,132 new cases over the last 24 hours. So far, the region has conducted 223,960 tests and confirmed 38,672 Covid-19 patients.

The total of 21,473 recovered, 585 in the last 24 hours, leaving 16,280 active cases in this part of the country.

Republika Srpska (RS) confirmed 609 new cases out of 1,285 lab tests. The region has confirmed 21,717 cases to date, while 8,856 patients have recovered.

The total of 111,175 tests has been performed in this part of the country.

Brcko District, an administrative unit in the north of the country, has reported 43 new patients 823 in total.

There are 461 currently active cases in the District.

According to official data, over 60,000 patients in Bosnia and Herzegovina contracted the virus since the epidemic outbreak out of more than 340,000 lab tests conducted.

At this moment, the country has nearly 30,000 active cases, while more than 30,000 have recovered.

The country’s death toll stands at 1,489.
