A total of 1,302 people tested positive for the coronavirus and 49 COVID-19 patients passed away in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past 29 hours, while 1,000 recovered from the disease, healthcare authorities reported on Saturday.

In Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, 944 of the 2,402 people tested since Friday were positive for the virus and 21 people died due to the disease.

In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 1,044 samples were tested and 302 new infections confirmed, while 22 COVID-19 patients died.

Bosnia’s Brcko District also registered 56 new infections and six COVID-19 fatalities.

A total of 190, 296 people have tested positive for the coronavirus in the country since the beginning of the pandemic and 146,863 of them have recovered so far.

The country’s COVID-19 death toll is now 7,837.

There are currently 35,596 active coronavirus cases in BiH.
