In the past 24 hours, 184 new coronavirus cases were registered in Croatia and the share of new infections in the total number of tests taken is 3.39 percent, Health Minister Vili Beros said at a government session on Thursday.

The number of new daily infections and hospitalisations is dropping, Beros said, adding that 482 people were currently hospitalised with the virus, including 48 patients on ventilators.

Hospitals are gradually reducing their capacity for the treatment of COVID-19 patients and are getting back to their usual activities, he said.

Nearly 41 percent of the adult population has been vaccinated so far, with 616,000 people having received both doses, Beros added.

In order to additionally facilitate access to vaccination, some counties have introduced mobile teams to vaccinate residents of smaller communities.

“The epidemiological situation is getting better and better, but we must not relax,” Beros said, calling once again on citizens who have not registered for vaccination to do so.
