In Croatia, 11,343 persons have tested positive in PCR tests and an additional 6,146 have been positive in rapid antigen tests in the last 24 hours, the national Covid-19 crisis management team reported on Thursday.
The total of 17,489 new cases surpassed the previous daily record of 16,017 set on Wednesday. Currently there are 59,193 active cases of Covid in the country, including 1,792 hospitalized patients, of whom 195 have been placed on ventilators.
Since the pandemic began in February 2020, there have been 848,150 registered cases of infection so far, in a nation of 3.9 million. Another 43 deaths due to Covid were reported as well, meaning that the death-toll-to-date now stands at 13,300.
“To date, 64.43 percent of adults have fully been vaccinated,” state agency Hina said, without clarifying how many adults are living in Croatia.
