Education workers will be made one of priority groups for Covid-19 vaccination, Croatia's Education Minister, Radovan Fuchs, said on Friday, adding that his Ministry expected to have information on all employees interested in getting vaccinated by Monday.
“The vaccination of education workers has a broader impact on life because a stable situation in schools makes it possible for parents to work more easily,” Fuchs said.
He added that he could not say by which time all interested education workers would be vaccinated, noting that some counties, such as Medjimurje County, had already started inoculating teachers.
When asked to comment on the decision of local authorities to allow students in Zagreb to return to schools as of Monday, Fuchs said that the City of Zagreb had a “relatively stable” situation at the moment.
“According to our indicators, the number of infected children is not dramatic, moreover, it has been declining lately,” Fuchs said.
He added that it would be possible to see the real situation in schools next week and that schools can switch back to online classes quickly if necessary.
