In the past 24 hours there have been 766 new coronavirus infections and six related fatalities in Slovenia, with the government saying that all epidemiological data are improving, except for the situation in hospitals.

A total of 3,752 tests were done and 766 came back positive or 20.4%, which is both fewer cases and a lower share of positive cases compared to the situation of a few days ago.

The average number of new daily cases has dropped from 871 on Friday to 801.

The entire country is in the so-called orange zone of epidemiological risk but the epidemiological situation varies in different parts of the country so in the coming period restrictions will be determined depending on regional epidemiological circumstances, the government said.

The number of COVID-19 patients is still critically high, 629, including 151 in intensive care wards.
