Despite doing everything in their power to help the Ukrainian refugees coming into Poland, the problems that first appeared on border crossings are now spreading to the country’s interior, N1 Television's Adisa Imamovic reported from Poland.

“The number of refugees who came to Poland will soon exceed two million. Poland made everything available to them – manpower, vehicles, checkpoints… All the services made available are free of charge, including food and clothes, and shops are already being set up in malls where Ukrainian refugees can come in and take whatever they need,” Imamovic said.

But such a sudden influx of people is creating problems for in the border areas of Poland, which are straining under pressure to provide necessities and infrastructure to Ukranians fleeing the violence at home. As they travel deeper into Poland, interior areas are also increasingly becoming strained.

“Problems at border crossings are now being transferred to the interior of Poland, as a large number of refugees will remain in Poland… Appeals are heard from all sides, that Poland now needs help, both financial, and (resources) from the EU and from humanitarian organizations… There is a lot of talk these days that US President Joe Biden will visit Poland, and he is expected to come to Brussels,“ N1 Television’s Adisa Imamovic said.
