Bosnia is experiencing a dramatic increase in daily coronavirus infections, as a total of 986 people have tested positive for the virus and 19 passed away due to COVID-19 in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past 24 hours, healthcare authorities reported on Saturday.
In Bosnia’s Federation (FBiH) entity, 638 of 2,344 samples tested were positive and 14 COVID-19 patients died.
In the other semi-autonomous entity, Republika Srpska (RS), 323 of the 997 people tested were positive and five died due to the disease.
Bosnia’s Brcko District has registered another 24 coronavirus infections.
More than 136,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus since the outbreak of the pandemic and the COVID-9 death toll is more than 5,200.
