Ruling party whip: Paladina given unanimous support by ruling coalition

Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) whip Branko Bacic said on Tuesday that the ruling coalition has unanimously supported Ivan Paladina as the candidate for the new minister of Physical Planning, Construction and State Assets, whose appointment the parliament will vote on on Wednesday.

“After Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced his candidacy and after Ivan Paladina’s address, in which he presented his programme and how he thinks the process of reconstruction can be accelerated, he was unanimously supported by all the members of the ruling coalition,” Bacic told reporters after the coalition meeting.

He announced that a joint meeting of the relevant parliamentary committees would be held tomorrow.

Paladina will once again present his programme and plans to the parliamentary committees.

The vote on his candidacy will be conducted in the the parliament tomorrow and after that, he will take the oath.

After a meeting of the HDZ presidency and national council on Monday evening, Plenkovic announced that Paladina would be proposed as the new minister. Paladina is a former CEO of the civil engineering company Institut IGH and chief advisor at the Croatian Postal Bank (HPB).
