The parliament on Friday adopted the Prime Minister's report on the meetings of the European Council in 2021 following a dispute between the opposition populist Most party and the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) lawmakers.

Marija Selak-Raspudic (Most) said that inflation and the increase in the price of gas is the main concern of citizens, adding that not even soup kitchens have the money to survive.

“Why has this happened and what has the prime minister done to prevent this?” she asked.

HDZ whip Branko Bacic responded that that question should be put to Zagreb City authorities and that the government has taken actions to create a certain security network and to protect consumers.

However, Anka Mrak-Taritas (Glas) did not agree with his response.

“It is shameful that you are trying to pass the buck to (Zagreb Mayor) Tomislav Tomasevic, who has been in office for only six months,” she said.
