Strong storms caused considerable material damage and floods in several parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, including in Banja Luka, Mostar, Travnik, Bugojno and Konjic.

Already in the morning, locals in these cities and towns witnessed winds tearing down trees and damaging vehicles and buildings.

In Travnik, significant material damage was caused to the area of Plava Voda, a National Monument of BiH, as well as to the Lipa Hotel and the Martyr’s Cemetery.

Citizens of the northern city of Banja Luka woke up to a severe storm on Thursday morning which left several neighbourhoods without electricity and tore down numerous trees.

Buildings were also damaged in Bugojno.

Konjic experienced a hailstorm that tore down the roof of a local building.

A yellow warning was issued for the entire territory of BiH due to thunderstorms, which means that the weather is potentially dangerous.
