In the past 24 hours a total of 9,890 coronavirus tests were conducted in Croatia, with 1,797 returning positive while 52 people died in that period, the national COVID-19 response team reported on Tuesday.
A total of 2,263 patients are in hospitals, including 261 on ventilators.
The number of both fatalities and patients on ventilators exceeds figures reported on Monday, which were already record high in the past three months.
Positive cases account for around 18% of the tests done, which is around 3% less than last Tuesday.
Since the first case of the disease in February 2020, 324,833 people have contracted the disease, and 6,957 of them have died.
A total of 304,546 people have recovered, with 1,847 recovering in the past 24 hours.
There are currently 30,996 people in self-isolation.
To date a total of 1,772,515 persons have been tested.
As of 26 April 798,717 doses of COVID vaccines have been administered, inoculating 629,108 people.
Of that number, 457,061 people have received the first dose and 169,609 have received both doses, while for 2,438 people it is not known which of the two doses they have received.
