In February 2021, consumer prices in Croatia increased by 0.3 both year-on-year and month-on-month, Croatia's statistics bureau reported on Tuesday.

This is the first time the price index has increased since March last year. Since April 2020 consumer prices have been steadily falling, with the sole exception of September, when they remained unchanged from the same month the year before.

The month-on-month increase of 0.3 percent was slightly higher than the month-on-month increase in January, when prices inched up 0.1 percent.

By component, the highest single month-on-month increase was in transport (1.7 percent), which accounts for 13.3 percent of the entire consumer basket tracked.
