The Most party reported on Friday that two young female volunteers were physically attacked in Zagreb's Ban Jelacic Square while collecting signatures for the party's candidate for Zagreb mayor, Zvornimir Troskot.

“The assailant approached the stand and started throwing around our promotional material, after which he hit one of the female volunteers in the head several times. He then grabbed the second volunteer by her hair and punched her several times. More serious injuries were prevented by passers-by who stopped the assailant and,” the party said.

The police arrested the attacker and the two young women, who sustained minor injuries, sought medical attention.

Independent candidate in the Zagreb mayoral race, Vesna Skare-Ozbolt,  condemned the attack.
