Over the last 24 hours, Slovenia's authorities reported a new record-high of 4,511 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday, only a day after the previous record had been set. There were also 18 more Covid-related deaths on Thursday.
A total of 10,156 coronavirus tests have been performed in the same period, with the positivity rate at 44.4 percent, the country’s health ministry said on Thursday.
There are currently 670 Covid patients in hospital care, including 159 in intensive care units.
Although some local experts projected that the current pandemic wave might peak around mid-November, on Thursday scientist Leon Cizelj cited by Croatian state agency Hina said that the “upward trends in new cases could continue until the end of this month.”
