Coronavirus: Slovenia sees falling numbers, mulls easing restrictions

In the past 24 hours 4,542 coronavirus cases, out of 93,799 tests, have been confirmed in Slovenia, the government said on Thursday as it is preparing to relax restrictions due to an increasingly good epidemiological situation.

There are 104,310 active cases, 12,127 fewer than yesterday, including 405 patients hospitalized for Covid, including 108 in intensive care. The number of hospitalised patients with Covid is 890 and includes patients who have been hospitalised for other conditions but also have Covid.

The seven-day average of daily new infections is 5,581, or 1,077 fewer than yesterday, while the 14-day incidence is 4,944 per 100,000 population, or 573 fewer than yesterday.

To date, 60 perecent of the population has received one vaccine dose and 58 percent has been fully vaccinated.

The death toll has reached 6,152, including 15 fatalities in the last 24 hours.
