A Slovenian man was detained on Wednesday after investigators discovered that he had taken seven shots of the coronavirus vaccine as a stand-in for four other people so that they would get Covid passes without actually getting the shots, local media reported.
All five are now suspected of false claims and and misleading health authorities into issuing unwarranted Covid passes, POP TV channel said.
The police warned that this sort of scam could carry a prison sentence of up to three years. They said that four men who did not want to get vaccinated had arranged with the fifth person to receive vaccination shots at different vaccination centers using their health care IDs. That person has been arrested after signing up for vaccination for the eighth time, and has been remanded in custody.
“The four suspects took advantage of the person’s problems and living circumstances to get him to commit a criminal offence in return for a small financial reward without
Health authorities did not immediately comment on the effects of taking multiple vaccination shots for the person’s well-being.
The first Covid scams were recorded in September, when several people were reported in Ljubljana for arranging with other people to get vaccinated for them in return for payments. People hired to take shots are usually homeless persons or drug addicts, who can get paid up to €150 euro for receiving one vaccine jab.
