Due to the falling Covid numbers in Slovenia, the country's government decided on Thursday to ease restrictions and allow public gatherings of up to 50 people as of Saturday.
The same number of people will be allowed to attend religious events outdoors, while gatherings in churches will be limited to half of the venue’s seating capacity.
The mandatory wearing of face masks outdoor will continue to be in force until May 23. As of Monday, all high school and university students will resume in-person classes, working hours for bars and restaurants will be extended until 10 pm, and most of the restrictions referring to sports and cultural events will be dropped.
Over the past 24 hours, 4,636 tests were done and 597 infections were confirmed. The seven-day average of daily cases is now 494.
Other numbers have continued to improve as well. Currently 450 Covid-19 patients are in hospital care, including 123 in intensive care units, and four patients have died over the past 24 hours.
