Iva Pem-Novosel of the Croatian Public Health Institute (HZJZ) confirmed on Wednesday that the Indian variant of coronavirus had been detected a few days ago in Split-Dalmatia County, noting that there was no need to panic and calling for further compliance with precautionary measures.
Speaking in an interview for state television HRT, Pem-Novosel said that the most dominant variant in Croatia was the British variant and that now several cases of the Indian variant had been detected as well.
The two variants are rather infectious, she said, but noted that the latest cases of the Indian variant in Split-Dalmatia County were isolated cases and that there was no need to panic.
