Croatia will be designated "epidemiologically safe country" by Russia as of June 10, which will allow Russians to travel to Croatia, state agency Hina reported on Tuesday, citing a Ministry of Tourism press release.
“The ministry underscores the establishment of a ‘tourist air bridge’ envisaging more than 500 flight services between Russia and Croatia from June to September,” Hina said.
Russia’s flag carrier Aeroflot will offer daily flights from Moscow to Croatian coastal cities of Pula, Dubrovnik, and Split during the peak summer season. They currently operate a weekly flight between Moscow and Zagreb. In May, Aeroflot added one more flight per week, and during the peak summer season there will be three flights a week between the two capitals.
Croatia has also “restored the issuance of tourist visas for Russian nationals,” Hina said.
According to data collected by eVisitor system, so far this year Russian guests have made 30,000 overnight stays in Croatia, 48 percent up from the same period in 2020.
