Children's and general hospitals and clinical hospital centres in the Zagreb area have received a donation of 35,000 three-ply medical face masks from the German company Bauerfeind, a leading distributor of medical supplies in the region.
The company said in a statement this past week that the donation was a mark of gratitude to health workers successfully combating the coronavirus epidemic.
The donation was distributed among the Merkur Clinical Hospital, Zabok General Hospital, the Clinic for Children’s Diseases Zagreb, Srebrnjak Children’s Hospital, Gornja Bistra Children’s Hospital, Sisters of Charity Clinical Hospital Centre and the Zagreb Clinical Hospital Centre.
The director of the Clinic for Children’s Diseases Zagreb, Goran Roic, said that protective gear wears fast, and that the donated masks will be used both by visitors and by medical staff. He noted that staff use several hundred masks daily, or tens of thousands monthly.
