The improved epidemiological situation in Slovenia enabled the authorities on Thursday to allow the restoration of movement between statistical regions in the country and some other anti-epidemic measures will be relaxed in the coming days.

As of Saturday cafes will be allowed to operate outdoors and hotels on Monday but for a reduced number of guests, the Slovenian government said on Thursday.

Terraces and outdoor cafes will be open throughout the country.

In the past 24 hours a rate of 17.5% of the tests taken identified 745 new cases of coronavirus, which is a daily drop of 16% on the week and 24% less than the day before so the government  decided to relax some restrictions as the epidemiological situation has been improving for some time now.

In the past 24 hours there were 11 cases with a fatal outcome as a consequence of Covid-19, the government said.

There are currently 620 hospitalised Covid patients, or 11 fewer than on Wednesday. Of that number 154 are being treated in intensive care units.
