Remains of Serbs killed in Croatia war identified in Zagreb

Forensic experts in Zagreb have identified the remains of 13 Serbs killed during the 1991-95 war in Croatia, the Serbian government’s Missing Persons Commission said on Monday.

The remains were identified at the forensic department of the Zagreb University School of Medicine. They were exhumed from gravesites in several places and were identified by DNA testing. The statement said that representatives of the families and members of Missing Persons Commission monitoring team were present during the process.
The statement said that the remains of more than 1,400 Croatian Serbs killed during the war have been identified after exhumantion from individual and mass graves between 2001 and 2109. More than 980 remains have been handed over to their families for burial, it added.
