North Macedonia’s government said on Tuesday that the country’s borders would be opened to everyone who can show a negative PCR test as of June 17.

A statement said that the PCR test has to be less than 72 hours old and added that “active measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus” would be implemented at all border crossings. Travelers will have to sign statements confirming that they will self-isolate for 14 days under police control if they show symptoms. Anyone, including North Macedonia nationals, who do not have a valid PCR test will have to go into quarantine for two weeks, the government said.

Foreign nationals can only remain in the country for five hours in transit and cannot change routes.
