Croatia's commodity exports totaled €10.3 billion over the first seven months of 2021, or 24.3 percent up year-on-year, while imports increased by 17.4 percent in the same period, to reach €15.6 billion, the state bureau of statistics reported on Wednesday.

The foreign trade deficit in that period increased to €5.3 billion, and the export vs. import coverage was 66 percent.

Exports to EU countries in the first seven months of this year totaled €7.0 billion or 24.3 percent up from the same period last year, while imports from EU countries increased by 14.8 percent to €12.0 billion.

Exports to non-EU countries increased by 25.7 percent to €3.3 billion, while imports from those countries rose by 29.7 percent to €3.5 billion.

The state statistics bureau also released their revised data for the first half of 2021, which show that exports had increased by 27.4 percent to €66 billion in the first six months of 2021, while imports rose by 19 percent to reach €100.1 billion.

The trade deficit in H1 2021 totaled €4.5 billion.
