The government on Thursday dismissed the claims from a motion to give Construction Minister Darko Horvat a vote of no confidence and he said that he would state his case at a parliamentary sitting.
The motion was dismissed “very clearly and very resolutely,” Horvat told the press after the government sent to parliament its opinion of the motion filed by 62 opposition MPs dissatisfied with the pace of post-earthquake reconstruction.
“After the meeting and full support of the ruling coalition parties, I think it’s superfluous to say anything else,” he said, adding that he will present concrete reconstruction numbers during the parliamentary debate.
Asked if he had thought about resigning, Horvat said “there is no need at the moment for any resignation, nor has anyone requested it.”
“The pace of the reconstruction is faster and more efficient by the week and I’m sure that everything that has been promised will soon be visible on the ground,” he added.
