Skopje lifts curfew, restaurants to reopen partially

North Macedonia's Government says it will lift the curfew introduced during the country's fight against the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday, and allow a partial reopening of the restaurants on Thursday, the Beta news agency reported.

Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski said the open space of the restaurants and cafes’ terraces would be open, while the work of the indoor places would be regulated later.

The Government also demanded from the Health Ministry Contagious Diseases Commission “a clear and precise estimate for opening the borders and prepare the protocols for travellers,” Spasovski told an online news conference.

He said Skopje was in coordination with other regional countries regarding the opening of the borders, adding some other measures would be eased in the country.

The epidemiology situation is under control, Spasovski says, warning “that doesn’t mean the virus has been defeated or that it has disappeared.”
