A 26-year-old man has been charged with threatening Health Minister Vili Beros, the Municipal Prosecutor's Office in the eastern city of Osijek announced on Tuesday.

The threats were made in Osijek-Baranja County in October when the suspect sent intimidating text messages to the health minister because of the restrictions aimed at curbing the spread of the coronavirus outbreak.

The Prosecutor’s Office did not specify the threats in question nor did it name the state official the threats were addressed to.
