State-owned airline Croatia Airlines has hired Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to "make and implement its post-Covid strategy," the company said on Monday, in a press release carried by state agency Hina. They described BCG as "a leading international company for strategic consulting with a strong presence in Southeast Europe."
Croatia Airlines said that their experts and BCG would work together on “finding ways to increase and create value” in new circumstances, by “analyzing broader market possibilities for connecting European destinations with Southeast Europe, maximizing the potential for future revenue and increasing plane productivity, enhancing cost effectiveness, and further rationalizing and improving business processes.”
Croatia Airlines posted a 358 million kuna (€47 million) net loss in 2020, increasing five-fold compared to its 2019 net loss of 79.4 million kuna (€10.5 million). In Q1 2021 the company had already reported a 96.9 million kuna (€13 million) net loss.
