The top 50 private companies in Croatia generated the highest revenues in 2018, of HRK 119.7 billion, a report by the Financial Agency (FINA) shows.
The top 50 state-owned enterprises earned a total of HRK 48.9 billion in revenues, those in mixed ownership posted HRK 56.6 billion, while cooperatives made a total of HRK 1.13 billion.
The leading 50 state-owned companies employed 68,041 workers and generated HRK 3.3 billion in net profits. The average net monthly wage in these companies was HRK 7,156.
Of the 50 state-owned companies, 24 percent engaged in transport and storage, 22 percent in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, and 8 percent each in manufacturing; water supply, waste water treatment, waste management; construction; trade; and information and communications.
Among the state-owned enterprises, the largest revenues were generated by electricity provider HEP, HEP Production and HEP Distribution.
The top 50 private companies posted HRK 119.7 billion in total revenues, employing 64,250 workers and generating HRK 3 billion in net profits. The average net monthly wage in these companies was HRK 6,561.
Of the 50 private companies, 58 percent engaged in trade and 24 percent in manufacturing. The largest revenues were generated by the Konzum retail chain, natural gas supplier Prvo Plinarsko Drustvo and filling station operator Petrol.
The top 50 mixed-ownership companies reported HRK 56.6 billion in total revenues. They employed 43,899 workers and earned HRK 2.6 billion in net profits. The average net monthly wage in them was HRK 7,571.
Most of the mixed-ownership companies, 46 percent, engaged in manufacturing, 10 percent in accommodation provision and food services, and 8 percent in transport and storage. Among these companies, the largest revenues were posted by the INA oil company, Hrvatski Telekom and the Podravka food company.
