The Croatian Sovereignists party on Saturday called for introducing the possibility for citizens to recall the President of the Republic through a referendum.
“This is clearly the democratic right of the people: if they have the right to choose, they also have the right to recall,” the party’s member Pero Kovacevic told reporters.
He said that the law would specify that a recall procedure could be launched only once during a five-year presidential term.
Kovacevic said they would also propose introducing “the possibility of recalling other officials because they need to be accountable to those who elected them.”
