There have been 23 new cases of the infection with coronavirus in Slovenia in the last 24 hours, the country's health authorities said on Tuesday.
Slovenia’s count of active coronavirus cases has increased to 205 after 23 of the 1,325 tests for Sars-CoV-2 came back positive on Monday, fresh official statistics show. The total case count stands at 1,739, the STA news agency reproted.
The government’s spokesman Jelko Kacin told the national television on Tuesday morning that a few new hotspots of the infection had emerged, and that a majority of those diagnosed with the disease were younger people who were showing mild or no symptoms of the infection.
Asked about the Covid-related developments in Croatia where a considerable number of Slovenians are vacationing, Kacin said that any further steps imposing self-isolation for passengers returning from Croatia to Slovenia could not happen overnight and that the two countries’ epidemiologists were in contact on a daily basis.
