The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled against Croatia in three cases in which it established a breach of the right to trial within a reasonable time, the office of the Croatian representative at the Strasbourg-based court has said.

The verdicts, handed down in late July, refer to the excessive duration of legal proceedings before Croatian courts as well as to a lack of remedies for excessively long proceedings.

The ECHR ruled that the plaintiffs be paid damages ranging from €1,250 to 9,000 as well as to have their litigation costs covered.
