The Kutina-based Petrokemija fertiliser producer on Monday said its Amonijak and other plants for the production of fertilisers had resumed operation after a halt in September and October.

Production in those plants was halted due to a technical failure and for the optimisation of business operations and increased natural gas and carbon emission allowance prices in Europe, the company said at the time.

The company's units have now successfully relaunched production in line with production plans.

According to a recent financial statement, Petrokemija generated a net profit of HRK 19 million in the first nine months of 2021, down from HRK 315 million in the same period of 2020.

Operating revenue totalled HRK 1.5 billion, up by 7.0% over the same period of 2020.

Petrokemija's result for the first nine months of this year was affected by the increased price of natural gas, higher carbon emission allowance prices and lower demand. The negative effects were partly offset by higher selling prices of mineral fertilisers and the efficiency measures implemented, CEO Davor Zmegac said in a comment.
