The world premiere of the 'Not so friendly neighbourhood affairs' film by Bosnian Oscar-winning filmmaker Danis Tanovic will open the 27th Sarajevo Film Festival on Friday evening.
A total of 48 films will compete this year for the Heart of Sarajevo Award.
Within four competition categories – feature film, documentary, short and student film – 18 will see their world premiere, while 25 films will mark their regional premiere.
This year’s Honorary Heart of Sarajevo will go to German filmmaker, playwright, author and photographer Wim Wenders. The festival will pay tribute to the famous director and the guests will have an opportunity to see a retrospective of his selected work in the festival’s ‘Tribute to’ programme.
Days prior to the opening, the SFF announced its Covid protocol which was designed in accordance with current public health measures in the Sarajevo Canton. All visitors will be required to provide either a vaccination certificate, proof of being recovered from Covid not later than six months ago, or a negative antigen test before attending any of the festival’s events.
In addition to the main Box Office, the tickets can also be purchased online.
All films that will be screened at several locations in Sarajevo will also be available on an online platform.
The 27th SFF will close on August 20.
