Acclaimed French jazz duo to perform in Dubrovnik

As part of the 69th Dubrovnik Summer Festival held throughout July and August, the French jazz duo of accordionist Vincent Peirani and saxophonist Émile Parisien will perform on Tuesday, July 31, in Dubrovnik, at the city's prestigious Palace Hotel.

Both Peirani and Parisien are award-winning artists known for a distinct and unique sound which transverses a number of music genres and is marked by reliance on improvisation in their live performance.

Peirani, an accomplished accordionist, clarinetist, and composer, won a number of awards in jazz, classical, and world music genres. In 2010 he joined Daniel Humair’s quartet, playing along Parisien and Jérome Regard. In 2013 he won the Django Reinhardt Award for French Musician of the Year.

Saxophonist Émile Parisien collaborated with some of the world’s biggest names in jazz music, and is the founder of the acclaimed Émile Parisien Quartet established in 2004. In 2012 he was awarded the Best French Musician of the Year by France’s Académie du Jazz.

In 2014 Peirani and Parisien recorded an album titled Belle Epoque, which won the prestigious Victoires de la Musique award and which will form the majority of the repertoire at their concert in Dubrovnik.

Tickets for the concert, scheduled to start at 21:30, are available at the Dubrovnik Summer Festival website, or at the Festival Palace in Dubrovnik, open every day from 9 to 21:30.
