Marija Kapitanovic, Croatia's ambassador to Pristina, said on Thursday that Zagreb did not support any border corrections between Pristina and Belgrade since it, in her opinion, would not contribute to regional security, but would open additional issues instead, the Beta news agency reported.

“As far as the border correction is concerned, we, having lived a difficult past, don’t think it is the best possible solution,” she told the Zeri daily in an interview.

She referred to the 1990s war in Croatia during which the rebel Serbs held over 20 percent of the republic’s territory with an idea to join it to Serbia as a part of “Greater Serbia” plan.

Speaking about the visa liberalisation for Kosovo’s nationals, Kapitanovic said the consultations among the European Union member states were ongoing, but could not specify whether the Kosovars would soon be able to travel through the Schengen zone without visas.

She also complained about the lack of transparency in public calls for investments and public procurement procedures in Kosovo, saying the potential Croatian investors were sometimes excluded from the competition without a clear explanation, even though they met all criteria.
