Srebrenica Genocide commemoration to take place via video-link due to pandemic

This includes the possibility for foreign statesmen and officials to send a message and address the public directly via video link or a recorded video message.

All activities, including the annual Peace March, the Bihac - Srebrenica Bicycle Marathon, the Bihac - Srebrenica Ultramarathon, Motomarathon and the Vukovar - Srebrenica Ultramarathon, will be conducted accordance with the prescribed epidemiological measures and instructions issued by the competent institutions, they said.

The religious part of the programme will still take place and a prayer will be organised for the victims of the genocide.

Organisers will consult with the families of the victims whether to organise a funeral for their beloved ones.

A decision not to organise bus transportation to the event has already been made.

Like in previous years, the event should allow a dignifying commemoration to the victims, the organisers said.
