Bosnia’s Service for Foreigner’s Affairs said that it has registered 13,683 migrants who expressed an intention to request asylum since the beginning of this year, which is 45 percent less than in the same period last year when 25,076 expressed this intention.

The Service said it registered 1,207 migrants who said they want asylum in Bosnia in October, 34 percent less than in September, and that the trend of the decrease in new migrants entering Bosnia is continuing.

The institution said it has throughout the past seven days issued measures of expulsion for 13 nationals of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq and banned them from entering Bosnia due to illegal entry or stay in the country. The foreign nationals are now prevented from moving across the territory of the country until they are deported, it said.

There are currently 6,377 migrants in temporary migrant reception centres, the institution said.
