Slovenia has registered a mild increase in new Covid numbers over the past 24 hours, the authorities said on Thursday, with almost 500 more new cases than a week ago.
Slovenia reported 2,305 new cases on Thursday, 123 up from the day before, and six more Covid-related deaths. There are currently 24,694 active cases in the country.
The rolling seven-day average of new cases is 1,857, or 66 more than on Wednesday, while the 14-day incidence rate has fallen to 1,168 per 100,000 population.
The increase in new cases over the past few days is attributed to the easing of coronavirus restrictions as the Ljubljana government had dropped most of them last month. Still, the numbers are very low compared to January highs so experts say that the current situation is “generally very favorable.”
